Cyberpunk 2077 2.0 sneakily adds a ‘look at your cool gun’ button-

Every weapon in Cyberpunk 2077 has a special animation that plays the first time you pull it out. V will twirl a pistol on their finger, spin the cylinder on a revolver, break open a shotgun to check for shells, or something even more elaborate for Night City’s iconic weapons. But after you’ve admired those animations once, they’re gone—short of unequipping and re-equipping a weapon, you’re stuck with a faster, simpler unholstering animation after that initial treat.

At least, that was the case in the original version of Cyberpunk 2077. As of the 2.0 update, you can now press a button to see those cool “first equip” weapon animations on command.

On PC there are multiple ways to draw your weapon in Cyberpunk, and this hidden command works with all of them. There’s the “…

Disco Elysium, an ‘irresponsibly deep detective RPG’ and the ‘frankly audacious’ crown jewel in our Top 100 PC games list, has its price slashed by 75%-

You only have to take one look at PC Gamer’s Disco Elysium review to realize just what a special PC gaming experience it is. Rated 92%, this detective RPG simply blew our reviewer Andy Kelly away, leaving him to “say with certainty that it’s one of the finest RPGs on PC if you value depth, freedom, customization, and storytelling.”

It wasn’t just Andy who loved Disco Elysium, either, but the entire PC Gamer team, with the game proceeding to win multiple Top 100 first place finishes in a row, including our most recent Top 100 games to play list from last year. Any game winning the Top 100 is a massive achievement, but to do so multiple years on the trot shows how special this is.

Which is why when I saw that Disco Elysium is currently discounted by 75% I felt compell…

Meta is laying off another 10,000 employees-

Mark Zuckerberg has announced that Meta, the parent company of Facebook, will lay off 10,000 more employees and eliminate 5,000 currently-unfilled positions as it struggles to cope with a “new economic reality” that includes higher interest rates, geopolitical instability, and increased regulation.

The cuts come as part of what Zuckerberg called Meta’s “Year of Efficiency,” which over the next couple of months will see “restructuring plans focused on flattening our orgs, canceling lower priority projects, and reducing our hiring rates.” Employees of Meta’s recruiting team will be told whether they still have jobs tomorrow, while cuts to tech groups will occur in April, followed by business group layoffs in May.

“This will be tough and there’s no way around that. It will mean…

I can’t believe I’m saying this but Skull and Bones hasn’t been delayed again- A new release date was announced at The Game Awards-

Well, it’s finally happened: Skull and Bones has a release date. Yes, another one. Revealed tonight at The Game Awards, Ubisoft’s repeatedly-delayed game of piracy on the high seas is now set to launch on February 16, 2024, following a closed beta test set to run December 15-18.

Skull and Bones has been delayed so many times previously it’s become something of a running gag, as you may have noticed. The most recent delay landed in October, when it was moved to late in Ubisoft’s 2023-24 fiscal year. On a calendar, that put it between January 1 and March 31, 2024, which this new date fits into nicely.

The new trailer takes a bit more of a supernatural tack than we’ve seen in the past, giving Skull and Bones a bit more of a Sea of Thieves vibe, superficially at least.

Is it Prime Day yet? Well, it certainly feels like it. We might still be a day—heck, a few hours—out, but the deals and discounts are rolling in. Manufacturers don’t seem to care for official deadlines, and neither do we when the pickings are good.

We’ve been combing through all the early bird deals and this is what we’ve come up with: the top ten PC gaming deals we can spot right now. From RTX 4070 gaming laptops to snappy 2TB NVMe SSDs and throne-like gaming chairs, here are our top picks for Prime Day before, y’know, Prime Day.

Organ Trail the movie has nothing to do with the zombie game, was inspired by a typo-

On hearing there’s a new horror western movie called Organ Trail, you’d be forgiven for thinking it was based on the Flash game that became a Steam game in which a station wagon full of survivors have to travel westward across the zombie-infested United States.

And before you “um actually” me, yes, I am aware that game was based on the educational game called The Oregon Trail, although it took until I watched our video about it to realize in certain American accents the two sound almost identical.

It was apparently the original Oregon Trail game that provided the nugget of inspiration that became this movie. As screenwriter Meg Turner explained on Twitter, “I was looking for the original video game and forgot an e in Oregon. The script was essentially born out of the best ty…

Sci-fi thriller The Invincible shows there are parts of space we should avoid-

The Invincible’s new trailer, shown at the PC Gaming Show, reveals the stakes in the sci-fi thriller. As you watch Yasna search for her lost crewmates, you see how humans may want to think twice before colonizing a planet. The trailer culminates in an ominous message: “Not everything everywhere is for us.”

Wasn’t that a big film from last year?

Sci-fi fans may recognize the title of the space game from Stanisław Lem’s novel, a story that explored themes of artificial intelligence and evolution on a distant planet. Developer Starward Industries has changed some of the main elements of the plot, but the team intends to throw you into the same thematic mix. Stranded on the planet Regis III and separated from the rest of her …
